Overview

If you have lots of pictures stored on your computer drive and you want to sort, comment and publish them easily, my PhotoDiary will help you.

My PhotoDiary is a Web application which allows to publish and securely share your pictures with your relatives and friends. It is multilingual and currently translated into English, Spanish and French.

Your pictures and comments will be your family diary: you want to keep them safely for tens of years and even more: my PhotoDiary only uses sustainable IT technologies because we want our digital souvenirs to be long lasting and easy to migrate when IT technologies evolve.

Main features and screen captures

My PhotoDiary is a content management application which runs on laptops, desktop or servers. You can either use it as a local application on your PC or as a Web application to share your pictures.

Once you have logged in to the application, you can define the welcome picture for the application visitors. Here the default picture when you install the aplication.

You browse your pictures which are sorted by date and shooting sequence. Here a picture from November 2014, which belongs to the "landscapes" shooting sequence. You can navigate with arrow keys, launch a slide show and turn full-screen mode. You can also scroll the thumbnails to quickly find a picture.

You and your relatives can comment the pictures and the shooting sequences. This information is displayed on "Post-it" when you move the cursor over the picture.

The pictures geolocation is also stored by the application. You can display them on maps and adjust or edit the location.

It is easy to publish new pictures by drag and drop from your local disk.

Mobile screen captures

The application layout is responsive: it automatically adapts to the user's device: mobile and tablet. Once you are logged-in you access to the application welcome page. A quick tap on the screen toogles the top and bottom menu bars. When the mobile is turned, the application layout is resized to display in portrait or landscape mode.

You browse pictures by navigating through year, months and shooting sequences.

In a shooting sequence, to scroll the pictures, you swipe the screen from right to left or from left to right. A quick tap on the screen toogles the top and bottom menu bars.

The right to left swipe shows the next picture.

A click on the "Menu button reveals the main menu."

A click on the "Search" button opens a search pannel where you select search criteria:

When you browse a picture, a click on the bottom bar, button "Comment" displays for few seconds a "Post-it" with the picture and shooting sequence comments. A second click on the "Post-it" allows to edit the comments.
